Hi,

I recently purchased a new 1.4x III from BH. It arrived a little strangely. The box was half way open and when I was unboxing I found the unit placed sideways in the foam. I am trying to figure out if this unit has been used/handled already. All other packaging appears normal.

I found this thread complaining of the same thing, but there are no conclusive replies there:

I bought this model brand new for a reason and I want to make sure it was never mounted. Yes, I am anal but that's what I want.

Anyone know how this unit is supposed to be packaged brand new from Canon?

Thanks. :)

I had a 2x III come sideways in the foam as well. I think it is just how they pack it.
