This is part of the Red Rock Preserve, somewhat outside of Las Vegas. The shooting was abysmal, with a gray blanket of featureless clouds dulling out the sky. With including such a sky being pointless, I was practicing narrow f.o.v. shots rather than vistas. With such a bland starting point, what do you think of the finished product.

TIA, Rad

I like what you've done here. Your conversion is very good. The shot has all the elements to make this successful. Excellent (diagonal) lines, wide range of tones, pattern, texture, nice shape & depth and of course the focus is spot on. A very pleasing shot (especially on a day when you might have been tempted to pack it up and go home!)

Great shot, Rad. Thanks for the link. I didn't see it at first. I would have loved to hook up with you. I'm sure you could have taught me a few things.

Had a play with the dull image.

Like the way you layered the focus, but I didn't have time to do it.

I like the first conversion with the background blur. The separation makes it look a bit like a face in profile. I'd like it more with a touch more color, tho.
Nice conversion, too.
