I just purchased the Canon 7D Battery Grip from Adorama used and I think I have a problem. When I charge my batteries without the Grip, the number of photos taken return to zero.

When I charged my batteries and put them in the grip, the photos taken are not returned to zero, they do not change from what they had.

Did I buy an older grip or is there a firmware for the grip or something else? I called Canon and the tech had not idea.

Thank you for your help.

Joe

You are talking about the number of exposures each battery has provided for?

Did you charge both batteries and then insert them in the grip?

I can't check this on my camera now, since my daughter has the one with the normal grip. The one I have here has a network grip, and then the camera is powered by its own battery in the normal way.

Joe, could you please describe in more detail what you are viewing for the "number of photos" and be a bit more clear on what changes you are or are not seeing?

Thanks.

It must be the number of photos the battery has powered since the last recharge. Can be seen in the detailed battery information in the menu on more recent cameras.

I have the Canon grip and I'm not sure what you are referring to.

Everyone thank you, I found out I used a non canon charger to my charger batteries. That charger left the exposures from the last time I used the batteries. I used the Canon charger and the exposures were zeroed
Again, thank you all.
