STM lens on Older body

:)?? is is a new STM lens a good investment to use on 30D,40D,50,XSi,,bodies​,,all of which i have??what will i see in improvements over the reg kit lens??

Yes, STM lenses are better than the comparable Micro Motor versions because:

1) STM AF is faster and quieter.

2) The front element does not rotate on the 18-55mm STM or 55-250mm STM.

3) The STM versions are sharper than the Micro Motor versions.

I and my wife have both added the 55-250 STM to our lenses. Lighter and much improved in sharpness by our opinion. We like it and think it is a great value for the buck

Heya,

I have an XSi and 40mm F2.8 STM that lives on it. It takes excellent images day to day, and is one of our walk around camera setups that is rugged and great around the kids.
