Has anyone made the switch and regret it? Is what I am reading about how much better the 6D picture quality is true?

I am glad I did not make the move as the Sony A7R fills my full frame needs very nicely.

For me the difference was so small especially below ISO6400 that it didn't make sense for me. If I had to choose between the two, I would have chosen the 6D as it is a better camera all around but coming from a 5DII, not so much. Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Jun 07, 2014 02:21 | #8 you'll find yourself wanting to shoot in the lowest light settings. The high ISO is pretty damn incredible. Sony A7siii/A7iv/ZV-1 - FE 24/1.4 - SY 24/2.8 - FE 35/2.8 - FE 50/1.8 - FE 85/1.8 - F 600/5.6 - CZ 100-300 - Tamron 17-28/2.8 - 28-75/2.8 - 28-200 RXD

A7R Are you using Sony lenses with it or Canon with the metabones? I really like the 24-70 focal lengths, but the reviews I read about the Vario-Tessar T* FE 24-70mm F4 ZA OSS were not very good. It's kind of scaring me off a bit. Have any experience with this lens? So far just my Canon lenses and my Canon mount Zeiss with the Metabones. The camera takes getting used to, but it sure delivers in image quality. Manual focus is so nice compared to a 5d2.

No weird banding issues either, at least so far. A7R sounds interesting except for the glacial AF speed. I actually shot a soccer game the other day with my 6D for giggles and it turned out pretty well. (I expect the 5d2 would have done equally well.)Actually if you use native Sony lenses, I understand the AF is not too bad on the A7r and pretty damn good on the A7.

Jun 07, 2014 17:45 | #12 I made the reverse switch...6D to 5D2....because the 5D2 better suited my needs. That's probably the most important part of switching to keep in mind. The 6D was a great camera by far, but the 5D2 better suited me.

Jun 07, 2014 23:01 | #15 I went to 6D after 5d2 because I needed the high ISO. The wifi feature is awesome for me as well when I want to do astrophotography as I can use my iphone to see how the camera is set up and review the photos.
