The library sits on top of a hill overlooking the Simi Valley. The wind was blowing briskly but the blue sky a with clouds were very pretty. You can see where the developments are creeping up.

Hey Skip, thanks for the pics. Very nice. The cloud patterns in the second one are pretty cool.

Interesting cloud formations - they look like fat contrails. Are the photos stitched together panoramas, or just cropped that way?

Thanks for commenting Jim. I really liked the clouds too.
That is just the way I cropped it John. I eliminated ugly foreground and some boring blue sky ;-)a Some of the long skinny clouds are contrails that have been blown a bit.

Thanks for the praise Stan as I have always been in awe of your skies. I was using my new CP that the missus got for my 17-85 IS. Love it. Opens up whole new vistas. Much more effective than the CP on my DO

they are really nice scenes and shots Skip
beautiful detail
and such beautiful skies too
all that 'traffic' floating across adds something to the blue

the library must be huge being up there

what are all the ridges on the left in the second picture?
vineyards ?
maybe too arid and hilly just there
I see no dwellings close by , so maybe not

:)

then again there are a lot further down

thanks for that Skip

really sorry to hear about Priscilla
(in Maureen's other post)

[SIZE=2]no. it's the ridges above those trees are what I mean
and now that you show the section enlarged
they don't look like ridges so much

some kind of blocks/buildings pattern with roads running through

Thank you for your concern.
All the dots in a row are trees in various stages of maturity. They are miles away.

ok thanks Skip
sorry for 'going on'
I didn't think they were trees ,especially in the far left lower corner (not sure what they are)
I had thought the whole lot were the same
but I see the various differences better now and the trees higher up the mountain

I understand what you say
