Great Horned Owl

My wife went out the door for a run this morning at 6:30 this morning and I got a call within a few seconds. This GHO was right outside my front door. Talk about the wildlife coming to you. So I snapped a few pics, it flew to a nearby Palm tree and I snapped a few more and left it. He/she is still sitting there.

I had to shoot into the sun so I had to mess with the pics a bit in post but they came out pretty decent.

Sweet, Jeremy! Very nice for looking into the light. It's funny how they squint with one eye, I think every GHO or Barred Owl I've shot have had that look. At first I thought one eye was injured, but now I think it's just what they do . In any event, great stuff.

Very cool. I have been trying to connect with one for a couple of years now. Have gotten close a few times but I have not had one knock on my front door yet!! You handled the backlighting very nicely. Great work
