My Samyang 85mm 1.4 looks different?

Hey all,

I recently bought a Samyang 85mm 1.4 for my Canon 60D, but the lens itself looks different from what you normally see.

This is what the lens normally looks like:

Weird, huh?
Do I have some kind of new revision of this lens?

That looks like is the newer version of the Rokinon branded version. Same exact lens as the Samyang just using the Rokinon name

Hmm.. It says Samyang on the left side of the lens, though.

New version. Samyang changed it's design details a bit.

I wish I had that version, I like the hyperfocal scale on the new one. I'm still waiting for the AE version though, they just came out with the AE 35/1.4 for Canon so it's only a matter of time :)

can u post up some images taken with it,I'm on the fence for one,i got my first rokinon a few months ago and i just luv it,I've been looking at the 85 for a wile

Heya,

I have the newer revision of the Samyang as well with the ring at the aperture and not near the front element. It's the same lens. Just different look. They have lots of revisions amongst the OEM's for slightly different looks. Great lens.
