Never owned the 7D, but as far as the 6D goes i have no complaints, i moved from a 5D MKII to the 6D mainly for the center point sensitivity and the ISO capabilities. Initially i thought i would never use the WiFi feature but as time has gone on i've found it to be a quite valuable tool. I keep it connected to an Ipad on shoots while my wife/assistant keeps an eye on things that i might miss while firing away (eg. a branch growing out of the side of someones head).

We've also been using the EOS app more while on vacation in trying to be creative, not that i don't trust some random stranger to snap a half decent pic :p but i prefer to take my own pics if possible

Like on a beach in Tahoe where we were the only ones there for example...

well, you do nature/wildlife right? GPS is pretty damn handy:

IMG NOTICE: [NOT AN IMAGE URL, NOT RENDERED INLINE]

you can log points of interest which can come real handy if you want to revisit another time.

Been away for a few days so only just saw your post.
Thanks for the thought but I don't have a problem remembering where I took photos. I can see that this feature may be useful to some - but it's not very useful in my case.

I shoot RAW too, but uploading an unedited RAW file as a promotion for an event would be pretty pointless, having the ability to upload a quality photo while at an event is extremely handy. As for remote shooting, I feel sorry for your lack of imagination.

I don't understand why you'd buy a product from a foreign country with no warranty that's lacking features which will undoubtedly hurt resale value just to save at most a couple hundred bucks. But whatever floats your boat.

Firstly regarding you second point. If/when I purchase a 6D it will be pretty much worthless by the time I sell it so it's not really relevant. For example currently my 5D is worth so little it doesn't matter where I got it from let alone any missing features, update, recalls etc. If it works it is worth a few hundred - if it doesn't it is worth about half that.
As to the Guarantee, I searched long and hard before getting my 1DX - no issues with guarantee.

As to your first point I have yet to have the desire/need to upload any image from anywhere whilst out and about. If you do that's great for you - I don't. Don't know anybody who does either. Hence my skepticism regarding this feature.
Given that my use for a 6D is landscape and macro (not just closeup), as previously stated, then please explain how remote shooting is useful? I am sorry to say that I lack the imagination to see the need for remote shooting with landscapes etc.

shooting tethered is a good for landscapes because you see a bigger image before you pack up the gear and head home. The F Stops Here pretty much answers this question. Check for any details in the framing and composition that you would have missed if all you had was the 3" lcd on the back of the camera.

I'm not sure if this thread is going on to actually advise the OP, as I see now this is pretty much a free for all as to strengths/ weaknesses of each camera. From what I'm seeing the 6D is a great intro to FF for digital shooters wanting to venture into the format. However, I don't see why it has the same interface as the 60D/70D. Maybe it is meant for those digital shooters having GAS to go from the XXD to FF. The 7D was very revolutionary for its customization and AF in its price point. I don't see why the 6D can't have the same dual function buttons and a M-Fn button. The latest 5D has it, and I gotta say I love that: makes it so intuitive to quickly pick AF points, back focus, and set other options.

Simple marketing. The more the 6D matches up with the 5DIII, the more people would buy a 6D instead.
