Wow, some GREAT images this week, everybody!!

I have been very busy with shooting birds this week and have not had a lot of time. But I did have an idea right from the start. Unfortunately John_B had the same idea! But then I thought that since my version would be different I could still do it, right?

And then Richard's incredible water shots made me want to do something with water too. This is nowhere near as good, but I thought that for an ant who got lost in the sink, somebody turning on the tap would be really alarming. Not sure if it's an ant's POV exactly though as the droplets are too small probably... :o

^^^These are great images Levina! At least, with the first one, the ant's last thoughts would have been something like..."At least the boot that crushed me was beautifully clean!"

And your second shot is wonderfully constructed. Well done, and no doubt you now have a very clean camera!:D

LOL. That's because the boots have never been worn! And they weren't on anybody's feet here either. The image is a blend of two shots: one with my little Powershot SX100 IS (the shoes, shot from below and up against a blue sky) and a shot of grass that I took at Waterland with the 1DIIN and the 400/5.6. :)

I took it with the Powershot which has a macro mode and a pop-up flash, but I carefully wrapped it in plastic foil first! :)

Thanks very much, Richard.

(EDIT: Waterland is the region where I shoot birds!)

Well the first photo I posted wasn't a positive, in an ants point of view...
So I decided to whip this one up to show an ant positive...
A 5x lifesize view of some sugar, down near an ants level…

John B, I thought of doing something like that, but your results are so much better than I could have got, I'm glad I didn't.

Who knew sugar wasn't really white?

Wow! Not only sweet but psychedelic as well! If I was an ant that's the décor I would choose.

Great shot Levina. Given the sole pattern I'd say you give the ants at least a 50/50 chance of making it to John's sugar cubes.

Like the shower head shot also. I like my ants clean. :-)

Thank you, everybody!

John, that is a great shot! Who'd have thought sugar looked like this!

I just looked at all the images again:

-beautiful giant droplets
-a terrific mushroom forest
-a wonderful parade of ants (I think this was the only entry that actually had ants in them, OhLook!)
-and lots of great ants' outlooks

What a great week it has been!

Mmmmm! I love the corn you guys grow! The New England variety anyway.

BTW...your ant appears to be short-sighted...it might need some specs!
