Hey all, so here's a shot from last night- I have dabbled shooting the moon, but really spent some time last night. I used a borrowed canon super telephoto with an extendor and used lightroom for a little help, mainly just cropping....please let me know what you guys think and please any suggestions, pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I see a bit of chromatic aberration, lightroom can take care of that easily, or you can simply convert to black and white, which might provide other benefits as well. Other than that, I might boost the contrast slightly and the clarity as well.

What would be the best way to take care of the chromatic aberration in lightroom? I'm unfamiliar with the feature.

Right hand side while in the "Develop" module, scroll down to Lens Corrections, check off enable lens corrections and remove chromatic aberrations boxes under basic, then click the Color tab, click the eye dropper, and zoom in on the top edge of the moon where you can see that slight blueish-green streak. Click on that colored portion and lightroom should remove it. You may need to bump up the Amount slider if the color cast doesn't disappear.

Personally, I think the better/easier way to completely eliminate the issue is by clicking the Black and White option at the top-right of the Develop module. I also prefer true black and white moon shots unless there is a significant amount of reddish-orange captured in the original image.
