Brides always want me to select single photos and send to them before delivery date. I am not really talking about thank you card but other photos with family remembers.
I would love to do it for them and send them but the only problem that it really messes up my workflow. I allocate equal time for everybody's wedding. It is hard to pull the drives, go through the wedding photos, selecting them and editing them before final delivery while I am still editing somebody else's wedding. It takes a long time and this way I feel that I will never be able to meet my deadlines.

The best example is father's day. Everybody wants to have a photo with their father...

How do you do it? Are sending brides photos after their wedding before the delivery date or you ask them to wait for the final product? If you ask them how do you ask them to be patient?

I upload 5 sneak peek images on to Facebook before the wedding has even finished. I upload 30 more when I get home that night after the wedding. Normally within 4-5 hours of my having left the wedding the couple has access to 35 images. I upload more over weeks that follow prior to them receiving all their photos. All of this is a standard part of my workflow.

Why would you need to pull the drives? At any one time I have access to every wedding that is in the production phase on my computer.

I concur with Peter. His method capitalizes on the excitement from the day and translates it into free WOM advertising. I do this same method with my portrait sessions and will with my future weddings.

If there are other cameras at the event, those photos which are likely posted right away, will garner all the initial excitement and attention. By the time yours will reach the people, some of that is lost.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks so much! I will try to post some photos right after the wedding. You are right!
