Looks like you caught some nice emotion from the bride. You have a distinct processing style, for sure. The crop on 4 is too tight for me but my opinion isn't worth much as I haven't the experience that others have.

Not really. They look very much like VSCO presets to me. A very common processing style at the moment.

I guess I'm showing my ignorance to what's common currently. I guess I can just say it's very different from my style.

They're not presets but I def. like the vsco film look. I usually wash out the blacks a bit add some grain on top of exposure correction touch ups etc.

I'm a fan of the first photo. Great capture of her expression

1 - the main thing the dude will see is his bald spot. Also, the photo seems incredibly flat and blown in the highlights. Processed to look this way or not, I find it odd to see the bride's hand one big flat white shape.

2 - I like this version of the photo better

3 - There's a lot of foreground going on here. I also don't like how the windows behind them aren't more symmetrically placed--I would have moved the group to the left (camera left). Why are the ladies looking away ?

4 - You cut across the groom's eye. I'm all for quirky crops, but cropping a photo like that seems to me not to work at all. The normal crop looks like it would be a good photo, though.

No disrespect tonman23 but I feel you need to develop a better understanding of cropping, posing and either exposing or post processing. I know that comes with experience but spend as much time as you can looking through leading wedding photography web sites and learning from their work.

Film, when properly exposed and processed, did NOT look like that.

All great shots.
#1 and #2 bother me a bit because I can't really tell what the occasion is. I can't see the brides dress or anything showing she's a bride and same goes for the groom. Maybe pull out just a smudge next time to show some more clothing or decorations of some sort.

I appreciate your constructive comments here. It's forced me to go back into lr and photoshop to take a look and what I can do. Now that you pointed out the flat hand I can't see anything else but I at least made the bald spot less noticeable and brought some of the highlights back and reprocessed the B&W.

I agree on number 3. I'll have to keep an eye out next time but here's a tighter crop.

As for the fourth shot. That crop was def. not the plan but i liked her smile so much in that photo and the correct crop totally didn't have the same expression so I went back and photoshopped her smile onto another shot.

I like the girl to the bride's left, our screen right, she is gorgeous, very sexy looking!
