Filmed part of a local race that I was going to attend anyway. This was around my 6th flight with the Phantom and the first time I've actually tried to put any of the footage together. Man this thing is fun!

I have the H3-3D gimbal and a GoPro Hero 3+ Black on it.

The smoothness with that setup is really impressive.

I realize this vid is more about just playing with the (very cool) Phantom, but I gotta say that as great as aerial footage (and helmet footage) is, it can get pretty boring if it's not broken up with a lot of other shots.

Yeah I get that. For me it was playing with the Phantom, and for them it was about the race and being able to see themselves and others they knew racing and being able to show others the course. But for anyone outside, yeah, it would be boring unless it happened to be the very first Phantom footage they've ever seen :)

Those Phantoms are great. I can't wait to get one. The incredible footage people are getting is just insane. I was blown away buy the stable shots I've seen.

Dayumdanny, I'm pretty sure the visions have cameras built in. The phantom 2 with a 2d or3d gimbal accept go pros. I have read that the go pro footage is a little better than the models with built in cam. I'm gonna opt for the model that accepts a go pro. Joe D.

@DayumDanny - Yes, I got the Phantom 2 with the H3-3D gimbal. No, you cannot use a GoPro with the vision or vision+. They have a built in camera that is not as nice as the GoPro. If you already have a GoPro it's a no-brainer. If you don't, I'd still go that route because you can use the GoPro w/out the Phantom for so much more stuff!

How easy/difficult to control?

At what wind speed is considered not safe to fly?

Compared to a standard RC helicopter, it's child's play. Takes a little while to get used to, but it's equipped with GPS and sensors that help keep it stable and upright.

A normal breeze is all I've flown it in so far, and no problems at all there. I'd be nervous to fly in any kind of gusts.

I just got the Vision 2+. I love it. Easiest thing to fly. Wind is no problem. I just had it up at 350 feet over my back yard. Wind currents up there can be much stronger and basically unknown and it just hangs and hovers with no problem.

I also recently bought Final Cut Pro to play with the videos I make, but haven't a clue how to use it yet.
