Now all that's needed is broadcast TV to have 4k content so people will buy the 4k TVs and we will have something to watch what we film on. I was just in the market for a new TV. I spent more on a 1080p than I could've gotten a 4k for because I wanted at least 75" and the nearest 4k that wasn't the price of a luxury car was 10" smaller.

MDJAK, you have one elite taste buds and surely right!
Definitely stay away from new generation items but though I hate it, do remember how on earlier days of HDTV and 1080 (Even Hi8m), so many rationalization was proposed. Well I did lose good amount of $ on early switch but nevertheless I never regret.
Seams that 4K is coming no mater what but at least for a while, this should work perfectly for the consumers looking for significant mark down of current 1080HD stuff. So enjoy it and I am sure you can find your choice. BTW I am still very happy with my slim Mitsubishi DLP 82 inch that I bought few years back at the fraction of price of first 60 inch large HDTV.
I feel sorry for colleges who already spent multi K $ on other 4K models, just for the sake of having the highest market feature. Surely we will soon see 4K in Rebel and entry level bodies as well and no harm to wait a bit longer.

It's nice to see another camera manufacturer offer something new and interesting. I was getting tired of thinking so highly of Sony. :)

Resolution isn't everything. There is so much more that goes into any image or video than pixel count. But this is certainly a step forward.
