Very nice hand held shots Moose. Excellent facial detail in the last.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

It's hard to appreciate in pictures, or from a normal shooting distance, just how small these things are. I was reminded again when I brought a freshly filled feeder outside and a female started feeding from it while it was in my hands. I held the feeder in front of my face for a closer look, and she never flinched... just kept hovering as she drank. Tiny, tiny, tiny. :D

Great shots Moose. Very cool story. And it is surprising how tiny they are. 3" to 4" long including those bills is down right tiny.

I've held an injured, or exhausted, Black-chinned in my hand... actually he was perched on my finger...., and have found two dead hummers in my yard over the years. It's almost as if they have no weight.

Beautiful captures and amazing variety here Moose!
I really like the portraits in #1 and #3, but the facial detail in the last is fascinating. You put all of us limited to Ruby-throats to shame :)
