Hey all,
I have been considering purchasing a macro lens and I have come across two options (listed above) that I think will work well for me. I mostly do portraiture but I would like the option of having a super sharp macro lens as well. I tried doing a search on the Sigma model but I came up fairly short here on the forum. is there a reason that I just don't see much in the way of reviews, or usage. I am strictly looking for some comparisons to the canon 100mm L.

thanks for the help

Moved you to the macro discussion.

I am sure both will be very sharp, both have OS/IS etc.

In the past Sigma have had compatibility issues with new bodies and needed firmware upgrades, though I suspect this is a very low probability issue here.

In general as one gets a camera system for the manufactures lenses I normally stick to Canon unless I have a reason not to (have not yet, the only temptation in the new Tamron 150-600mm because Canon do nothing like it and if they did it would cost a lot).
