Lightroom beta 2 (external link) is now out. you can finally crop and rotate images!! they have also added more metadata support and a few other things

Universal Mac binary, but no windows support, yet. i'll see if it's any more useable than beta 1.

Hi new to the forums, just looking around but already can see myself spending a lot of time here! Just interested on what peoples thoughts are on lightroom? Just thinking of downloading it now!

i had a SBOD upgrading the database (only about 3,000 photos). after leaving it for a few hours, i checked the forum and i see lots of people had it. i couldnt even force quit - had to reboot. once i started it again it finished.

the first thing i notice is that it seems noticeably slower than beta 1. it supports layered .PSD files, which is a major plus. i'll make more comments after giving it a good play.

I wouldnt count on SOON.

Sorry, Lawrence. Uninversal in B2 is for MacTel only.

Windows will be later this summer. We appreciate your patience. We're working hard on the windows version.

Same thing happened here but didn't have to reboot, was able to just force quit. When I opened it back up, all 100+ images were ready to go. Hopefully an easy bug fix in version 3.

the original beta was locking up on d2x files, but worked fine with 20d, xt and 1d files.
