LOL, no. She was defending her nest. I was very pleased to get an in focus shot this close from a head on flight. Just wish I could have gotten her more in the frame. I cropped about 500 to 600 pixels from the left on the width and about 2/3 of the pixels from the height.

No, those mean ol claws are still tucked up. If this is the same as the last head on, ( I hope it was yours, lol), me thinks you are going to be raked soon! Be careful my friend....
I would not be to surprised if you get a not so friendly post about being to close and other stuff in the not so far future!
Nice shot too but the eyes would have been a nice touch.

Wow, that's close. Nice shot John, no easy to keep focus on a quick incoming bird.

I got buzzed by a Bald Eagle last year and I was no where near a nest. I had her in my viewfinder as she was coming at me and when I couldn't focus anymore I looked over the camera. She extender her talons right in my face and banked at the last second blasting me with a wing burst. I about fell over, I'll never forget how clearly I saw those big hooks.

Thanks Steve. That is the first time I got a fucus that close. I agree you had one scary encounter.

Thanks Jeff. My thoughts after I lamented not having more of the bird in the shot.
