My band opened for Dragonette over the weekend and I had my camera with me. I've never shot a live show before, I'm usually the one on stage. It was pretty fun, but I'm looking for areas to improve. Critique away, please!

What ever you are doing, stop it, these are just horrible!!!!

Just kidding, you seem to be doing it correctly. #3 & #4 are amazing!!! (all are great).

You have the exposure and comp down, now just work on different (out of the box) angles.

haha Thanks so much! Agree on the angles bit, I should have tried to get closer, or even up on stage.

I'm looking at the images on my work computer right now and they seem underexposed. I guess I need to calibrate my monitors.

4 is really good, love the lights. The others are nice as well.

Thanks Milky! In #4, is the red on her skin a problem? I tried to pull the reds down, but it just made her look a little sickly.

Here's one more from the concert. She wears these things on her eyebrows, they look like bandaids almost. They glow when the black lights come on, which has a cool effect, but looks weird in normal light.

Nice set for a first time!! Nice set for a four hundredth time actually!

4 is the pick for me, but yeah that red does need a bit of correcting.

Stunning images. I have tried to take photos of live bands on my 650d with the standard kit lens but I have never produced any thing near the quality of these. Any tips.
