Nice shots everyone. I really like the puzzle pictures, well done. The beach one is sad.

We have so much litter around here that choosing it as a subject would be too easy. I hope you all know, I don't drop the stuff. Sometimes I pick it up.

Anyway, the plans for the remodel are moving along. We're changing the kitchen and adding a half bath. Below is one idea. I have put the toilet conveniently under a kitchen window and the lavatory in the doorway.

Then here's something I saw today. Boots on a sidewalk are common, but usually they contain feet. This boot didn't. Actually, I didn't check, but I don't think it had a foot inside.

A very sad photo showing how a beautiful beach suffers from pollution… Which so happens to fit quite well with this weeks topic of Out of Place...

I have given this photo also to a person that is running a petition against it. To ban Styrofoam Food Containers in Hawaii County <-- Click to see (external link)

Well done on all counts, John! Having sailed across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans I was appalled at the amount of rubbish...even back in the 80s when I was out there. And I wasn't in the worst places, either.

I suspect that much of the current worry about ocean acidification is being caused by the break-down of plastics and other rubbish. Time to call a stop!

Nice idea OhLook. That's what I have to do sometimes for my clients...little cut-outs to move around the plans to see how things work. With smaller boats of course the floor is usually smaller than the ceiling space, which causes problems locating some items.

I wonder what happened to it's mate...if it ever had one of course. (It could have belonged to a unidexter!);)

Your remodelling plan is great, OhLook! Very funny. But I would make sure to go to the toilet before visiting you! :) Question I have though is how does one lose a shoe? I see stray shoes sometimes and I always wonder. I mean, a glove I understand. A scarf too. But one shoe?

Also liked the out of place bottle, Dave. Nice shallow DOF.

John's pic is a sad sight. Plastic is a killer...

Stina, are you still working crazy hard?
I do hope you will find time to process your picture!

John, that's sad, but nicely done.

Today I have the day off from work but we are hosting a couple from France for a couple days. They are friends of our friends. I hope to get to my pictures on Sunday. I will keep peeking in.

Don't worry. If you visit, we'll move the toilet to the living room for you.

After posting the above I went out to the harbour to see if I could shoot some birds there (a lot of House Sparrows and Swallows as well as Swifts breed in some of the old buildings there). Anyway, there was a sudden down pour and I fled in some roofed space between houses when I saw this. Seems to me it's out of place in more than one way. :)

After the rain had stopped and passing this scene, I realised that although I'm used to seeing it, it is rather odd to have this jungle kind of structure smack in the middle of an Amsterdam canal. It's pretty, but definitely out of place. Too bad about the dark, rainy weather though.

Levina, that is definitely an interesting "thing" there in the middle of the canal! 'Course the old shop window is, well, funny!:)

I agree! Both are wonderful versions of "out of place"!

Thanks, Tony and Richard. It's so funny how you see things sometimes when you're not looking for them! :)

Aliens on the beach? Certainly out of place! I'm note sure where they came from...it's sure got me stumped!
