I found a 20D today, went round to a random house in sandringham, walked in the door and someone just gave me 20D with a 24-70 L on it :D

Iv spent all night playing with it, works very well, learning a lot about how it works to.
Ill see what else I can find over the rest of the week :)

Thank you very much, it saves me a trip out your way.
However, I wouldn't mind having another sunset shoot out there one eveing next week, if we can get there early enough? (daylight savings and all).

I have to give a Massive thank you to everyone for lending me bit and pieces of thier gear :)
You all know who you are, and every little or big bit is a big help, I just hope one day Im in a position to return the favour.

I now have
1 x 20D
1 x 24-70L
1 x 70-200L
1 x 10-20
1x Nifty Fifty
1 x 75-300 complete with rattle
1 x 580 EX flash
1 x spare battery
1 x 10gig portable drive
3 x 1gig CF cards
1 x Manfrotto Tripod and Monopod
1 x Lowpro bag

If that isn't close to the ultimate set up I don't know what it is, its also VERY heavy, I know my arms are going to get a good work out on Sunday.

Thanks again, Im somewhat over whelmed by the generosity of everybody.

If everyone agrees then I thought I might use the money from work to pay for everyones Ferry tickets, and I do mean every POTN member that shows up, even those who didn't lend me kit, which isn't many. Anything left I will then put towards lunch, and maybe dinner if theres still some left.

Haha. I hope non-kiwi members are reading this. If you ever had any doubts about kiwis being nice friendly people, just look at that list!

You must have set a record for having borrowd the most gear. Anyone care to add up the dollar value?

I have been reading since day 1 and I agree that you guys all seem very nice. To lend Moppie all that gear is very inspiring. I hope he has fun and all goes well.

The hard part is going to be getting you to give it all back!

How much are they paying? there might be a lot of people at GKPE 3 given that Pete's letter got published in the latest DPhoto mag.

Well Im getting $200, thats enough for I think 10 people. So far we havn't had more than 7 on an expedition.

But your right, Petes letter might attract a bit more attention.
How, about Ill pay for everyone whos currently a member, and whats left goes to first come first served :)

I don't think Tony answered Moppie's question re: 20D hire purchase... After playing with, and getting used to all those toys Moppie may start seriously thinking about getting an SLR:D

Top up the mortgage, add a car and an SLR ...to the mix.

That's not to say there is anything wrong with either your current camera, or your car, but home mortgages have a nicer interest rate than finance companies (unless it's an interest free jobbie..)

No such thing.;) All these interest free deals that you come across have the interest calculated into the mix. If you have the cash, walk up to anyone and offer them cash for a discount and they will offer you between 10-15% (or more) off the price... If they don't move to the next store.

I've done this many times and have come out better off. However, there have been times when the "interest free" offers have come in handy... not bad actually if you want to pay something off slowly.

I've been in sales too long so please excuse my cynicism:lol:
