East Auckland is a bit of a cultural hole, unless you like lowered Jap imports with loud exhausts and consider sitting in traffic a cultural experiance.
Amanda however feels differently, and, this place is walking distance to her work, which will have its advantages

It goes unconditional wednesday next week, so its going to be a fun weeking, getting a LIM and builders reports, talking to the Mortgage broker etc.
Moppie, have you thought of getting a professional building inspector? I think they cost a couple hundred bucks but well worth it. I was too new in the country before realising that there were such services... it would have saved me heaps to know that my fireplace was in condemnedable condition then, and that the roof needed re-surfacing or changed... I could have gottent he owners to do it before going unconditional...

As for being a cultural hole... probably... but I love the 5 minute access to the beach and living in a culturally varied environment... though I find that there is more tolerance from "Kiwis" rather than among migrants themselves... funny that...
