Spent a few days in Zion last November. Most sunrise / sunset shoots were cloudless, including the morning this picture was taken. First rays of the sun were spent behind the visitors center taking pictures of West Temple, Sundial and Altar of Sacrifice. Later on we moved on to a spot my friend found another day.
To take this picture I had to use ND filter from the top as well as one from the bottom to cover the reflection. When Zion is cloudless I feel that the sun produces very harsh light, even in early morning.
