I tried these the other day and they quickly showed off the need for an L lens autofocus. Nice shot.

Thank you Jeff. I was able to get them with my 70-300 non L also. Shots are a little sharper with the L but still quite possible with a well honed technique on a non L lens.

Very nicely done. I find it especially impressive with all of the trees in the background to help grab your autofocus away from the bird.
