How do you balance your exposures? Do you do a lot of work in post? All your pics, the light is just so perfect, and I struggle to achieve that. Do you meter the ambient and match? Any pointers would be great. Thanks.

Sorry I missed your question bro.

I do a lot of shooting at the end of the day to get that awesome light so its easier to balance ambient and strobe to my taste at a shallow dof. I basically nail the exposure on my subject thats most important. Since I am shooting super shallow I adjust strobe power to very low to expose my subject perfectly and I keep my Octa boomed slightly off axis.

My post work is comprised of a lot of curve adjustment layer masks for skin, foreground and background. So basically I am masking to my taste. Hope that helps you out;)

No problem. Thanks for the info. I guess it really comes down to I need to learn photoshop. I have the videos, just need to sit down and watch them. Post processing is my weakness. I guess it might be time to kick it up a notch. Thanks again.

I like the 2nd one. It appears to be HDR, similar to Joel Grimes style. Is that correct?

The balance you strike between your flash and your background light is really extraordinary. The tones are so beautiful. I'm envious. :)

Thanks Sac! I am astonished by the amount of people that have been inquiring about my post work lately its extremely flattering! Thank you again bro I may just have to make my 1st tutorial;) I am feeling extremely humbled right now;)

Had a maternity shoot yesterday so I had "mom to be" stay in the car and keep warm while I setup my E640/large octa and used her husband as my test subject so I could get composition and exposure correct. This was the 3rd shot fired off and was blown away by the sharpness at close to wide open;) I was very pleased with the IQ for a handheld manual focused shot while kneeling in mud lol
