Just want to mention it because it can still give you blown high lights, and you want see it before youre at your computer later.

I'm guessing to get rid of red color on the leftside of her face (her left) I would need to use a reflector? How does everything else looking? Thanks. I edited a bit more to get some of the red out.

(2 edits in all) | Using a reflector isn't going to get rid of the color cast. In order to get rid of that, you are going to have to kill the ambient light, or gel your light to match the ambient. Other than that, it looks pretty good. -Sac

oldvultureface Goldmember More info | If possible, move her farther from the background, lessening that color's effect. A reflector would bring more of the flash's color temperature to the left side of her face. The flesh tones on her right side look okay.

Unless you live in a white box, the ambient cast is a mix of colors coming from every direction. In the worst case, gelling fails because there is no unifying ambient color. The other problem is artificial light which is always the wrong color for a xenon flash, and is becoming increasingly spiky in its spectrum as we move to CFL and LED. Getting screwed by ambient was the reason I got into studio lighting. Canon, Nikon, Contax, Leica, Sony, Profoto.
