Playing in a studio setting yesterday, with just one light - large Paul C . Buff softbox with grid. Trying to achieve the right balance of highlights and shadows. What do you think?

I think its too low. Even more so because shes tilting her head sideways like that. Youre effectively lighting her from the bottom. Also, because the light is so close, the exposure on her arm is much higher than her face so its nearly blown out on her forearm.

you can easily tell that you your softbox is situated too low. You're ratio is very far apart.

Nice.
I like the umbrella light better than the Maxi etc. that you normally use. The transitions are more gradual.
