been taking this thread in and looking.....reading........and this picture to me (total newb comment here) but it takes on a natural light look as the strobe is not making the models shiney ---- guessing some of these shots are really obvious where the off pic light is coming from and this one seems more like a curtain was lifted or a door opened very classy sir! and as natural a shot why the tip toes? ...............just asking.....probably a newb question JD

If you are referring to SereneSpeeds beautiful shot, tip-toes lengthen and slim the legs, look more graceful and generally just look nicer.

great looking capture wish I could learn what the set up you were using really nice

It looks like you are commenting on an image from 2014 of a dog in front of a sunset.

Maybe the original poster will reply. :)

I can guess they used a light with a warm gel to match the warm light from the sunset (perhaps a bit too warm), up and camera right. Probably with a softbox.

Set up: 1/2 CTO gelled bare speedlight placed behind an iron gate. The "gobo" effect creates the light pattern you see on the background and model mimicking natural sunset light coming through a window.

Nice shot. You might consider removing the reflections from the Octa box on the engine cowl.
