I realize the bottle should be tilted to the left to better show off the branding, and the blue/purple stripe across the back is a bit distracting, but what else can I improve on this image? I'm planning on shooting with this setup again tonight with some other bottles to make a set out of it.

You already mentioned the first two thoughts that popped into my head. If you are attempting to highlight the brand, then the only thing I would potentially change/experiment with would be adding a bit more light to the label of the bottle or decreasing the light on the environment. As it is now, my eye jumps around a bit between the top of the bottle, the label, and the water splash.

Regardless, it's a great shot.

Well, yes & no. I like the water droplets on the left side, so I'd want to see them on the right if you tilted it the other way.
I might try reducing the saturation a bit on the background to make the bottle pop out more.

One light with mirrors: Episode 18, tabletop photography all done with mirrors (external link)

yeah, I meant pretty much mirror the image left-to-right, but with correct orientation for the label.

Also, I used 2 lights :p

I've got 3 other images with other flavors of the vodka that I shot the night after I shot this one and learned quite a bit. I haven't been able to edit them yet, but I'll post them up next week!

Looks ad quality to me other than having to read it almost upside-down.

Agree totally here... if I were working for the brand I would reject... takes too much effort for the viewer to read the brand on the label. Bottle needs to be diagonal upper left to lower right so the label is much more obvious.

Ok, now I apologize for not reading your intro where you realize what I just said... I also feel the splashes on the left are too tall - doesn't feel realistic tho I know you were looking for something to fill the space.

Also feel there's empty space with no splashes to the right of the bottle

For some reason I prefer it tilted the other way. Haha. It looks great though! :)

unrealistic? this is very nearly straight out of camera, and I didn't touch the splash.

I like the purple line, but would make it perfectly horizontal. The splashes do extend too high but that is easily fixed. I would make one a little higher than the other.

Cool shot. Any chance of seeing you set up?

here's the unedited image, just a LR raw conversion:

IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/o2ahbH (external link) bottle un-edited (external link) by Jcareyphoto (external link), on Flickr

all I did with the editing was remove a hair that was on the bottle, clean up the lower label that was getting soggy, fix a flare on the side of the bottle, and remove sensor dust specs
