Ok, I know it's a fly, however, I have never seen one with such an unusual appearance. It seems that it's head is transparent with what is almost like window leading. It was about 4mm in length.

I think Space bug is certainly very apt. as looking at that link, I think it's the "Andromeda" Lace bug. :)
