Hello all, It's been a while since I posted a few images. Here are a few images from last month. The Orioles were busy nesting and the Mockingbirds were feeding young. Even though Blue Jays are common this is the best shot I've had at a Blue Jay.
All are large crops and taken with 1DMKIV, f/4 600mm + 2x III combo. Thanks for looking.

I think this is my best side... Orchard Oriole (male)

Wow. 1200mm plus heavy crop. They look beautiful.

Congrats and it's good to see your birds. I always count on you for ID help but like to see your birds too.

Well this is a gorgeous set. Well done indeed! I love my 600mm and the 2xIII with the 1D4 works quite well when needed too! You did a fantastic job.

Thank you Carol, I've had this combo for quite a while now and the 2x TC is hardly ever off the lens. It really does works well with the 1DMKIV, albeit a little slow in the focusing department.

Thanks Bret, It seems like every spring the Orioles stick around just long enough to have a brood (maybe two) and then completely disappear until next year.
