One lone crow took a run at this eagle in his tree. The crow didn't really come very close, but the eagle also made a definitive warning not to get any closer...

Very nicely done, Ian. Do eagles live around your neighborhood all year?

Thanks Linh. Yes, they are in the area all year, but they do move around a bit once the rivers start to freeze over.

The Eagle certainly picked a pretty tree to sit in, while screaming at the Crow. Very nice set Ian.

Gorgeous series. Well it looks like the crow gave you some real nice expressive captures of that eagle. The whole set is fantastic!

Great series. I've seen crows band together to 'bug' Great Horned Owls. I remember thinking why doesn't the GHO take out one of those pesky crows.

I don't think I'd want to mess with that Eagle. They always look so angry.. Beautiful set Ian!

Yes, thanks Carol, I think he drove the crow away successfully ;).

Crows will do that to pretty much any raptor of any size. That's how I find most raptors is by a bunch of crows making a ruckus. I have seen an eagle make a grab at a crow, and I'm sure they do grab one at times, they are SO in-their-face.

Thanks. Yeah, I like the progression of his excitedness as the crow kept getting closer and closer, and then some relief as it flew by in the last shot ;)

Great images of an Awesome bird

I see you are using a 1DX. How is it over your 1D4, as in distance(do you miss the crop factor ?). PQ quality and the focusing. Im thinking about getting one ?.
