New lens was announced by Tamron for the EOS M, 18-200 super zoom, very nicely priced at $500. Very much considering this lens. EOS M for general, travel use. The 6D for all work related stuff.

$500 to me seems to be way too much...

Heya,

Seems weird to me to have a compact mirrorless camera... and then put a big lens on it. At that point, what's compact? Might as well just take an APS-C dSLR and less expensive EF-S lens?

Very best,

Very best,

I don't think there will be APS-C DSLR's for too much longer. I'd be pretty certain mirrorless will take over the segment. They're just about there now, as far as AF goes, even with continuous tracking.
It would be interesting to know which would be cheaper to produce, a mirror box assembly, or an EVF. I suspect that will be the defining component as to which way they go. Makes sense to start building a lens system now (for the manufacturers) as they are then poised to turn profits which ever way the market goes. Just how I see it. Can't wait myself, to see a fast mirrorless body. I love EVF's, the only thing holding me back from getting one right now is continuous AF tracking. ( have the current M with the 22 & 18-55, but the lack of viewfinder drives me nuts)

Heya,

I would welcome a mirrorless that had the autofocus performance of today's dSLR (even the mid-range ones, not even the best), and a viewfinder (I don't want to be stuck always looking at a LCD), with features that allow for good manual focusing too. I won't bother with the EOS-M because of lack of viewfinder. I just can't go pure LCD.

Very best,
