It's nice seeing a version of this lens in use on a popular TV show. The Celebrity Apprentice had a photographer with a Canon 70-200mm lens. Not sure if it was the 4.0 (probably not but who knows) or one of the 2.8's and he was using it to shoot portraits. I may have to try this. I've heard of people using this lens for portraits before and I'm sure there are many examples in this thread as well as the other 70-200 threads.

Great lens all around ,I love using it for portraits of all kinds .

Does anyone have any shots with the Canon 2X mkiii teleconverter? I'm using this lens on my 7D and I'm thinking of just picking up the teleconverter rather than buying a 100-400L.

My photography teachers advised me to rather use the 1.4x converter as that one has better image quality then the 2x.
I will test one at the end of May at a nature photography workshop with 7D and 70-200 2.8L IS USM.

Thanks, I'm just leaning towards the 2X mkiii as I can get it the same price as the 1.4x mkiii. I also feel the 1.4X maybe a bit short.
