Yes it's a great lens but I want to try the new 2.8 version.

This lens may not be the first choice when shooting sport with an ultrawide lens. But it's sharper than my 16-35/2.8 II and when the light is plentiful, this lens focuses fast and accurate. However, I tried using it during a hockey game and it's way slower to nail the focus than the f/2.8 II, at least combined with a 6D. I'm going to buy the 16-35 III and keep this lens (and perhaps the old II as a spare lens because an ultrawide is a really useful tool), for those times I'm out for fishing.

Hello, guys. I'm trying to justify the higher price of canon 11-24mm f/4 ...... almost three times of 16-35mm f4. It is soooo pricey!

What do you think? 16mm it is wide enough for landscape? Anybody here thinking of buying the huge, pricey 11-24mm?

Becouse iam in really doubt on these bad boys.

Thanks for response.

To me it's wide enough. Sometimes it's hard to make a composition without getting very close to your subject at 16mm, so imagine that at 11mm. A lot to get into the frame!

For me, the 11-24 doesn't add up.
It weighs twice as much as the 16-35 f4.
It won't accept screw on filters.
That objective lens is much more vulnerable.
And, by the way, 16mm is pretty wide already -and- you lose what is approaching "normal" perspective at the other end.

Also, as Marcial pointed out, composing with 11mm will be challenging.

Thanks, guys for the response. So, with the price of 11-24 + wonderpana filters i can take 100-400 II and 16-35mm f4, that i was plannying for a travel kit and mine 50L. Maybe the 11-24 will be for next time. But i'm always take the decision back i want the 11-24. Soooo difficult.
