Great photo! But that silhouetted bloke on the right has a tree growing out of his eye. :)

I would recommend the B+W XS-PRO. B+W is really the only filter I like. it should provide the least amount of quality degradation.

You don't need a slim filter for this lens. It's more expensive and you're stuck with a slip-on cap that was usually in the bottom of my bag when I had the 2.8LII.

Tomorrow I will be trading my 17-40L for the 16-35. The photos in this thread are amazing!!! Can't wait to get my hands on this lens. Can anyone recommend a lens that will provide similar results for my backup cropped sensor 80D?

Interesting.

The light is the weak point. But it will function at F2.8~F4 with high ISO. Most of us use big lights and bigger sources, because we stop down to F8~F11 and want spread for diffuse light.

Also, a macro with a built in light is not new, it's been done. It's just the first from Canon.

Kudos to Canon for doing something outside of their box.

I'll pass on one though, it's a master of none. Don't need that for macro.

Very best,

I do not have personal experience but I have heard great things about 10-22.
Having said that 16-35 F4 seems to be in a different league IMO.

The canon 10-22 is a fine lens, the only reason I sold it was for the 16-35 f4 which is a excellent lens.

Canon R6 II, RF 800mm.
I like what I like.
