B+W is really the only filter I like. it should provide the least amount of quality degradation. You don't need a slim filter for this lens. It's more expensive and you're stuck with a slip-on cap that was usually in the bottom of my bag when I had the 2.8LII. multidisciplinary visual guy, professor of visual art, irresponsible and salty.

The photos in this thread are amazing!!! Can't wait to get my hands on this lens. Can anyone recommend a lens that will provide similar results for my backup cropped sensor 80D? 5D Mark III, Canon 80D,16-35L, 24-105L, 70-300L IS, 100-400L IS, Nifty 50 1.4, Canon 135L, Canon 85 1.8, Canon EFS 18-135, Canon 55-250, Sigma 150 Macro, EFS-18-135, Sigma 150-600 Contemporary, Extension Tubes, Canon G10

MalVeauX wrote in post #18325485 Interesting. The light is the weak point. But it will function at F2.8~F4 with high ISO. Most of us use big lights and bigger sources, because we stop down to F8~F11 and want spread for diffuse light. Also, a macro with a built in light is not new, it's been done. It's just the first from Canon. Kudos to Canon for doing something outside of their box. I'll pass on one though, it's a master of none. Don't need that for macro. Very best, I do not have personal experience but I have heard great things about 10-22.

Apr 13, 2017 05:21 | #2055 The canon 10-22 is a fine lens, the only reason I sold it was for the 16-35 f4 which is a excellent lens. Canon R6 II, RF 800mm.
