I've just tried. Hood is wide enough but parts of it sit proud of the lens preventing the step-up ring thread from engaging.
Buy a cheap third party hood and file away. Think vignetting is the bigger issue.

Thanks for testing it out. The ring was cheap, I'll test it out and see how it goes...a cheap hood might be an option too. Lake Superior and North Shore Landscape Photography

Also constraints of the forums 1200 posting restriction does allow for a better sized image in portrait orientation rather than landscape and that may be helping my chioce here along with the Portrait orientation/ crop helping to better lead the eye through the rocks to the clouds/sunrise . All in all a great shot with really good strong features and colors . Thank you for the nice words. I fully agree, the portrait one is also my favourite as it has the better composition with foreground elements complementing well the full scene.
