Just got my hands on one of these and it has quickly become my favorite lens. Amazing how much detail is provides! Excuse the heavy vignette issue to the top left...filter issue.

Nice shot! When shooting into the sun like that, do you blend two exposures? Or are you able to meter for the sky and bump up the shadows in afterwards?

Thank you! I exposed for the sky then lifted the shadows to 100 and boosted the exposure a little bit in Lightroom. It's crazy how much flexibility the 5DIV files have!

No kidding! I sometimes check with people just to make sure they're not doing HDR or some other more tedious method. Good stuff!

Oh yeah I'm way too lazy for HDR or composites haha. I'm a one and done, lazy type of hobbyist. I too wonder how much effort others go with their stuff because I always see some incredible stuff here and can't figure out how they do it.

Here are a couple of shots from my recent vacation to the US Virgin Islands. Gorgeous beaches, no US Passport required, I recommend this destination to anyone wanting to visit paradise :)

I really didn't do much landscape on the trip, most of my shooting was birds w/ my 100-400 II.

This is Trunk Bay, on St. John:

If it's in focus, it's pornography, if it's out of focus, it's art.

Very nice! I see very little movement with the leaves in the foreground for 45 seconds. Was it very calm? Or do you use a separate photo for that part?
