one thing i really like about this lens is the flare you get when you shoot directly at the sun. nice shot.

My thinking is that I am overpaying for this lens since I only need 16-23mm focal length on it. flickr

Better meaning, less expensive, of course. There is not much to fault with this 16-35 f4. there are a lot of used 17-40L's on the market now. if price is the deciding factor i'd be looking at those. i still like mine.

As he said the 17-40 is half the price of the 16-35 f4 and it's a very decent lens if you can get a good copy, also the tokina 12-24 could be a nice lens too and have similar price than canon 17-40 Marcial "Marshall" Quintero

Zeiss 15&18mm are not cheap. are u considering the Tamron 15-30? on POTN i've seen nice stuff. cheap UWA prime ever is the famous Bower/Rokinon/Samyang 14mm 2.8, no AF. yet when you are so wide not a problem. i'm using the sigma 12-24 and i think it's so wide it's sick! perfect for street-walking, cheaper than canons. only is so dark 4.5-5.6, and has huge vignetting, so it's better shoot @F8 or F10.. voigtlander 15mm costs more than the sammy ![]() Thank you METAL1 ! I had a 3-stop and 9-stop ND with me but didn't use them. It was around 5:30am from memory and there was nobody around except the usually taxi's on the right side of the Pantheon. I only cloned out some antenna's on the roof of the building on the left. I am not sure what you are seeing on left near the monument's corner. I then went off to the Spanish Steps and took some shots there without anybody on them. Here are a couple more from that day, all with the 16-35.
