An older air cooled GSXR engine (with lots of bling and blow!) in a newer water cooled series GSXR frame (albeit heavily modified)? one things for sure, that rocker cover ain't coming off with the engine in situ! Some very nice engineering in that Edit: just saw your flickr link to the side of the image. The one that Guy Martin rode at Pikes peak......very nice! The 1st GSX-Rs were oil-cooled. That's my guess (86'/87'ish). Kel

It is still a finned engine. It has no oil jacket of cooling as like a water cooled engine would have. All the marketing they used in regards to spraying oil under the pistons etc is all common place and has been for years. Great old bike though, the slab sided GSXR-1100, even the orginal 750....whcih I haven't seen for years, they sold so many, but they all seem to have dissapeared (or been exported back out of Aus, but that's another story.....) Wish I picked one up a few years back when they were still cheap! BlueDemon wrote in post #17098135 ![]() Its based off a 91 GSX-R1100 in a Martek frame, has around 320bhp cool, thanks for the info. Just googled it after reading your post and it appears they were based on the water cooled GSX-R frame, which is what originally made me think it was, the giveaway was the shape of the frame rails around top of the engine which are exactly the shape and style of the original W series frames. 50D. 7D. 24-105L. 100-400L. 135L. 50 1.8 Sigma 8-16
