Hi,
So, I gained lots of weight during my last relationship, starting from about 3 years ago. I used to feel great being outdoors, never exhausted, seemingly with endless inner strength. Now I feel floated, heavy, slow. I am sure many of you can relate. So.............. here's to doing something about it...
I've been running local streets, but I decided to search for some trails and this was the first one I found. Not true trail running as most of it is paved, but it is very scenic and picturesque. Would definitely recommend. It looks like the full length is ~16mi one way to a lake. I think I can make it, but since I don't have someone to pick me up, I'd have to do a return trip and I think 32mi would be nuts for the next couple years. So, I started with the plan to return around the 5-6mi mark.
Here's the trail:

I snapped a few pics along the way, so I wanted to share them with you... found many things I didn't expect in the San Jose suburbia (I just moved up from Los Angeles ~2months ago). Maybe if it looks good to you, you'd get off your ass and get out and run too!
Here's my stats for the run on Strava: http://www.strava.com …7f3afeccb3844bc75b121e39a![]()
Distance 12.8mi
Moving Time 2:05:36
Pace 9:49/mi
Elevation 77ft
Calories 2,323
Not bad. Coming back was a problem though. Looks like 13mi is about my limit to run without water. I was REALLY thirsty near the end. My left hip was starting to hurt and I was slightly limping. Next time I'll probably bring water--should give me more energy to be able to keep good form throughout, and thus avoid the limp.
