this was my first time taking action pictures, I searched around the forum for what to expect and such. I was afraid my 70-200 lens would get damaged as others on here I saw with a broken lens. It was an exhausting day, 3.5 hours but the pictures was all worth it! Please let me know what do you guys think of it. c/c is welcome!

I used to shoot a lot of paintball when my son was a 10 man tournament player. Seems like there is always at least one guy who thinks its funny to shoot the photog! You got some good shots.

haha, yeah, I had to stay on the side lines because things got crazy in the middle of the field. I got shot accidentally because I was standing behind one of the guy haha...

yeah, I searched around the forum and saw that you specialize in this type of photography. I saw your 70-200 got damaged by one of the paintballs, that suck real bad. I almost got hit with a couple of them empty shells, and got a couple of paintball paint on my camera and lens side. I was dodging them paintball! hahah...

btw, I like your pictures, where do you stand when you do take those pictures? also, how did you got that picture where one of the guy got shot at in the face with a paintball? I stood on the side most of the time since getting in the middle of the field is impossible, unless I want to eat paint haha...

here is my quick C & C
-There is a lot of dead space in most of your pictures, try using a single point focus when shooting and don't hesitate to crop
-#3 was good but would have been 10x better if you were to get lower, getting at his eye level would have captured that emotion that much better
-colors look good! looks like everyone had fun!

keep shooting!

btw gary gets those shots cause he has 2x 1DXs and holds the shutter action until someone gets shot

thank you for your c/c!

it was pretty hard to take excellent pictures with a mask on lol. I'll have to crop it tighter next time. :D

You know you are absolutely right, my cameras really do take great pictures….and to think I always thought it was the hours of suffering in the heat, cold and mud while getting blasted by paintballs which produce significant damage to me and my equipment on countless paintball fields all over the world for the past 15 years that produced my over 50 print paintball magazine covers.

Oh yes and by the way my fishing poles also catch some really big fish too

I apologize for this post but I guess I could not help it….well it’s back to editing my PSP Chicago Open pictures

Actually, Gary is the best of the best in PB photography. I'm an avid PB player and I see him at EVERY event. I actually bought a couple of his pictures from Decay of Nations last year. It was weird being on the other side of it for once!
