this is my first dslr. I just noticed today that the shutter button will rotate freely if you want it too. it still works fine and everything but I was wondering if this is normal? sorry if this seems like a dumb question.

On the older cameras like to 30D and 40D the "Set" button on the back would also rotate. It could be sideways or even upside down and it would bug the hell out of some people.

I am not sure when it changed, but Canon now makes the "Set" button fixed so it can't rotate.

At the same time as they started labeling it in white, so it would be more obvious if it was upside down.

The same thing with my 7D and 50D. The Shutter button and Set button can rotate freely on both.
