Ive have used the L Macro... could anyone speculate or comment on how the Nikon macro performs compared with the Canon?

Even on this Canon-focused forum, most people say the only real difference between the nonL and L 100mm macro is the IS of the L. IQ is close enough that it isn't worth the extra cost. My junk

However, if your partnering the 105mm with either the D800 or D600, the extra resolution gets you a lot more fine detail and for macro, detail is everything. Not sure why, but call me JJ.
