Hi everyone,

I'm on the verge of switching from my AB1600's to a Profoto B1 strobe... With that in mind, I have a few PCB (Paul C. Buff) modifiers (beauty dish, a couple of long strip boxes, large octa, and a couple of square softboxes) that I've used with my AB's... So my question to the POTN strobe family; is there a speedring where I can be able to use my PCB modifiers on a Profoto B1 strobe? I'd hate to start over with buying new/used modifiers for the Profoto... I've done a couple of quick searches, but nothing truly answered the inquiry I was looking for... In any event, I'd appreciate any recommendation, feedback, and/or comments on this matter... As always, thanks in advance for any direction or guidance you can offer...

Butch :)

Your best bet would likely be to give us some photos of the PCB mount so we can see what's involved.

Well, you gain no real utility from ditching everything you currently have for a B1. However if you add the B1 to your current kit, then you add utility as you only have to buy a modifier or two for the B1.

As the B1 really is targeted at out of the studio work, do you REALLY intend on using many modifiers? Heck in the studio I only use an 11-inch reflector with some scrim over it.

Essentially, the B1 is a big ole' speedlite. If I were shooting outside with one I would use a socked/scrimmed reflector(pick your favorite size) and shoot!

doesn't work. ... sell it. I sold my barn doors and snoots.

Good thing most of my light modifiers for my AB are Fotodiox. I bought there profoto ring inserts and it works. $35 each.

Although the profoto modifiers are super heavy duty. I bought a few for my profoto arsenal.
