So I'm running my new PC setup with Nvidia surround using 3 LCDs (running @ 5760x1080).

The Nvidia surround links all attached monitors into 1, so if I go to display properties, I have 1 monitor listed.

Is anyone running a setup like this on the machine they edit on? If so, how does the calibration work? I'm thinking since the computer now sees only one big monitor, that the monitor you calibrate on will be the only one to display correct. I also know it doesn't help that I am running 3 different monitors of various age.

I hope I described what I was trying to say in a understandable way.

You've described it well. If you want all three monitors color corrected you'll need to stop using nvidia surround. However just calibrate for the monitor you need calibrated and hope the software doesn't mess with calibration.

Yeah, I figure thats what would happen. I'm really debating just setting up the old computer I just replaced though I would need to buy a new LCD (or use my laptop) to use as a photo editing box. I like my Nvidia surround for gaming and it'll be a pain to change settings all the time.

Thanks Tim.

I'd just calibrate your main/central monitor with the Spyder and call that good enough.

Yes. I had a 3 panel setup, but with the AMD version. When I calibrated, using an XRite Display1, the software knew the difference and calibrated each screen separately, and created three separate profiles, even though the system displays it as one screen. YMMV ;)

Hmm. I'm prob going to wait on doing a calibration. 2 of my LCD's have issues. Good time to upgrade em all.

Ok, so I went to get the Spyder4 Pro today, but didn't. I was looking at the ColorMunki Photo. Wouldn't it be better to profile both monitor and printer?

It got too annoying using a multi-monitor setup on a computer that I used for photo editing, gaming, CAD, programming, etc. Each task seemed to need different setup and configurations. years ago I switched to one single 30" with 2560x1600 resolution and have never felt I needed any more. Sure I tried a PLP setup with two 20" monitors on each side but that wasnt worth the trouble either I found. For me a single big monitor with lots of screen real estate is the only way to "do it all".
