A few from a recent shoot. First shoot using my new 85 1.8 lens. Any comments or critiques are welcome.

Each of the shots is nice, with the exception of #3 where the processing makes it look muddy. My issue is that you have 6 different post techniques in 6 images. You sort of lose the cohesivenesss of the set when you do that, and you draw attention to the idea that you are trying to make the image in post rather than in the camera. But as I said above you have some nice images and you did well with the 85.

Thanks! Yeah some of the muted processing does muddy the detail a little. I agree about the cohesiveness aspect having all different processing effects, I'm never sure when I post a set if i should keep them to just 1 or 2 different effects or just a sampling of my favorites.

I'd stick with two different types of post. A color and a B&W. Or if you want go color and that vintage look. Or that vintage look and B&W. Just stick to no more than two different styles and don't use that post procedure from #3. You were probably thinking old timey film at the time, but it came out Instagram special! The processing on the last two are my favorite. I like the framing and posing in these though. I love the 85mm too. Miss that lens.

I guess next time I'll work on making my post more cohesive and stick to 2 process types.

#3 was supposed to be a vintagey B&W but seems to not be a favorite, but that's why I'm here, see what works and what doesn't. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah the guardrail was a pain to work around on that bridge area. I was also getting distracted as the bugs were vicious. I got several bites and you could see them flying around her head and had to clone them all out.
