Hi Folks...

So i'm in the process of opening up a new studio in my hometown..

I can't call it Trevor Davies Studio because i'll be hiring it out along with using it for my own work.. so it needs to have a different name..

I have one problem...

What the hell do I name it?? I don't want anything to "photography geek" like Shutterbug Studios or anything like that.. I'm just so stuck on a name... Please help!

How did you come up with Rushmore?

I like the sound of Rushmore Studios, ie. lots of stuff quickly :)

How about separating your photography business from the studio so they each have a name. If someone hires you they are hiring XYZ Photography whose address is "The Studio, blah blah, Leamington Spa" and if they want to hire the space they are hiring The Studio.

Is there a particular style of photography you will be setting your studio space up for? Headshots? Beauty/Glamour? Product photography?

I don't grasp this. Why can't it be Trevor Davies Studio, even if other people use the space?

Are you going into this jointly with other people, or are you the sole owner and operator? If it's your place, use your name.

Purely because.. If someone uses the studio and shares an image it could potentially impact my name as a photographer..

Fr example... Joe Bloggs hires it and takes a crappy photo... the posts all over Facebook "taken at Trevor Davies Photography"

See where the confusion may come into it?

So My name and the studio will be 2 separate businesses....

The Name Rushmore comes from my band I play in The Rushmore ( named after the street where my singer and I wrote all our songs in the early days )

So can't really use Rushmore Studios... as i don't really want any Connotations with my band..

Thank you all... Please keep them coming!

Studio [Street number]

pretty innocuous and no association to anything/person in particular, easy to remember, easy to convey as an email address (providing the domain is available.)

How about something your competition will appreciate, call it, "Oh no, another studio!" ?
