Can I convert my RAW files in adobe Photoshop 7.0? or do I need a raw converter?

only RAW converter I have is the Zoom Browzer that came with the camera.

Thanks for the Help.

I shoot Nikon, not Canon, but I know I needed a PS plugin from Ninkon to be able to work with RAW in PS. I don't think PS 7 can handle any RAW format natively.

You may try Adobe's plugin (external link)

There was a Camera Raw plugin for Photoshop 7, but it was a chargeable extra and doesn't support modern cameras. Only Camera Raw 3.x (which requires Photoshop CS2, or, with some Camera Raw features unavailable, Photoshop Elements 3 or 4) supports the Digital Rebel XT directly.

There's a lot of new functionality in Photoshop CS2, such as Bridge. Only you can decide whether the upgrade is worthwhile - otherwise you can continue to use free alternatives, such as Canon's Digital Photo Professional (you can upgrade to 2.0.3 free from the Canon web site), or, if you use Windows, Pixmantec's Raw Shooter Essentials.

If you do decide to upgrade your Photoshop 7 to CS2, you'll need to upgrade Camera Raw after installing; version 3.0 which installs with Photoshop CS2 doesn't support the Digital Rebel XT. Version 3.3 can be downloaded from the Adobe web site.
